Common Issues & Fixes
Resolve the most frequent Canon printer problems in minutes
- Power off the printer completely.
- Open rear cover and gently remove jammed paper.
- Check carriage path for any torn fragments.
- Reload paper correctly and restart printer.
- Restart your router and printer.
- Hold Wireless Connect button for 3 seconds.

- Ensure both devices are on 2.4GHz network.

- Open cover to access the print head.
- Remove all ink cartridges and re-seat them.
- Wait 10 minutes, then power back on.
- Remove the unrecognized cartridge.

- Firmly reinsert until it clicks into place.
- Run a print head deep cleaning cycle.

Remove all protective tapes, plug in and power on the printer, install the provided ink cartridges, then visit ij.start.canon to download drivers specific to your operating system. Follow the on-screen setup wizard to connect to WiFi.
Blank pages usually indicate clogged nozzles or empty cartridges. Check ink levels from the maintenance menu, then run a Nozzle Check followed by a Print Head Cleaning cycle from the utility menu.
On printers with a screen: Settings → LAN Settings → Wireless LAN → WiFi Setup → Manual Connect. Select your router and enter the password. On screenless models, use the WPS button method or the Canon PRINT app. Remember the printer supports 2.4GHz only.
Run a Deep Cleaning cycle from your printer maintenance settings on Windows or Mac. This clears dried ink from the print head nozzles. Always use genuine Canon ink for best results. If streaking persists, the print head may need replacement.
